| Pro-choice | Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation? | ||
| No | Do you support the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade? | ||
| Yes | Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations, unions, and individuals? | ||
| Yes | Do you support protecting government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct? | ||
| To an extent, I do. Too many frivolous lawsuits would cost us time and money that the state and local governments can't spare. I believe that qualified immunity has gone to far in many cases and has protected people that have committed crimes knowingly. Qualified immunity should not apply when the person in the position in question commits a crime by a reasonable person standard - just like we run the rest of our law on. I am more anti-Q.I. than I am pro. | |||
| No | Do you support increasing defense spending? | ||
| It's the highest expenditure we have. Most of that money is tossed to the wealthy to build weapons. We could stimulate our economy at a much higher rate by supporting smaller businesses that are not war related. | |||
| Yes | Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth (e.g. grants, tax incentives)? | ||
| Yes | Do you support the federal government increasing funding for affordable housing programs? | ||
| Yes | Do you support the federal government taking action, beyond those of the Federal Reserve, to alleviate inflation? | ||
| No | Do you support requiring a government-issued identification in order to vote at the polls? | ||
| Mail in doesn't have it. As a former military member, I voted absentee while overseas. | |||
| Yes | Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)? | ||
| No | Do you support the federal government allowing permits for drilling on public lands? | ||
| Yes | Do you generally support gun-control legislation (e.g. red flag laws, boyfriend loopholes)? | ||
| I do not support a ban of any sort - but we have laws and regulations that are incredibly easy to bypass legally. | |||
| Yes | Do you support a government-run (e.g. single-payer) healthcare program, such as Medicare-for-All? | ||
| Yes | Do you support expanding paid family AND/OR medical leave benefits (e.g. maternity leave)? | ||
| Yes | Should the government be able to regulate the cost of prescription drugs? | ||
| Within reason. If they're paying for it, it should be negotiated by them. People should never have to choose between crippling debt and death. | |||
| Yes | Do you support increasing security along the southern US border? | ||
| No | Do you support requiring immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship, regardless of their immigration status? | ||
| I wouldn't send someone back who is running for their life as a refugee - or a person who is here legally and applying for citizenship. | |||
| Yes | Do you support economic intervention as a means of resolving international conflicts? | ||
| Yes | Do you support the US providing increased offensive military aid to Ukraine? | ||
| They are the first line of defense against fascism/"communism" in Europe. If we do not want that to spread, we must stop it every chance we get. That money helps ensure we do not see an expanded war that will eventually lead to our soldiers in war. | |||
| Yes | Do you generally support increased regulations on social media companies (e.g. Tik Tok, Facebook, etc.)? | ||
| Within reason. We all have the right to free speech without question - but I do not want a world where lies spread like fire, children commit suicide due to online bullying and online "challenges" lead to deaths of our children. | |||
| Freedom - We must ensure our citizens grow in freedoms available to them. We must maintain our right to vote in fair elections - free from foreign or domestic interference. We must build better systems to ensure soldiers returning home have access to training and careers they can be proud of. We must stop treating each other as enemies. Energy and Climate - We can save money, create well paid careers and ensure there is a planet for our children to grow up on. Education - We fund schools in a way that ensures your zip code dictates your education. Equal funding and higher standards need to be the norm. Economic inequality - We must build an economy fair to all citizens. Rural broadband, small business training and grants and a good start to getting there. |
